Wendy Williams Spotted in Public After a Year—Here’s Where She Was!

Wendy Williams has been seen out in public for the first time in more than a year. The 60-year-old television personality was spotted on Monday, Aug. 19, in Newark, N.J., visiting a holistic store called Bolingo Balance with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr.

This marks her first public appearance since March 2023. The sighting was first reported by Page Six.

A Positive Outing with Her Son!

An employee at Bolingo Balance, a store owned by Victor Bowman—the son of renowned herbalist Alfredo “Dr. Sebi” Bowman—shared that Wendy appeared “sharp, upbeat, and aware” during her visit. 

The employee described her as “very bubbly” and engaging, although she wasn’t familiar with the store’s offerings, so her son took the lead in explaining things.

“She talked about improving circulation but didn’t go into too much detail during their first visit,” the employee added, noting that Wendy plans to return in the near future.

Bowman later shared a photo of himself with Wendy on his Facebook page, expressing his admiration for her. “Wendy Williams came to my store. Much love, Queen,” he captioned the post.

The store also posted photos on Instagram, thanking Wendy and her son for their visit. Kevin Jr. responded in the comments, showing his appreciation.

A Rare Public Appearance!

Before this recent outing, Wendy was last seen in March 2023 when she returned to her New York City apartment. Prior to that, her last appearance on The Wendy Williams Show was in July 2021. T

he show continued with various celebrity guest hosts until it ended in June 2022, as Wendy dealt with ongoing health challenges, including Graves’ disease, lymphedema, and struggles with alcohol.

Between her March 2023 and August 2024 sightings, Wendy’s team disclosed that she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

In February, Wendy’s sister, Wanda Finnie, and niece, Alex, revealed to PEOPLE that Wendy wasn’t aware of her diagnosis after being placed in a facility for cognitive treatment.

Communication between Wendy and her family has been restricted since her court-ordered guardianship began in April 2022.

In March 2024, court documents surfaced, highlighting the ongoing legal and financial battles involving Wendy’s guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, and A+E Networks, which owns Lifetime.

These documents also referenced a documentary titled Where Is Wendy Williams? and addressed the ongoing debate over Wendy’s finances.Since then, Wendy’s New York City penthouse was sold in May, and she celebrated her 60th birthday in July.
