Heidi Feek, daughter of country singer Rory Feek, is taking a stand regarding her father’s parenting of her younger sister, Indiana. Heidi has expressed serious concerns and recently revealed she’s pursuing legal action.
Heidi and her sister Hopie are worried about their 10-year-old sister, Indiana, claiming their father has put her in “harm’s way” and cut off communication between the sisters.
In an interview with People, Heidi shared her heartbreak. “This is a devastating change for her because we’ve been in her life since the day she was born,” she said. “She used to stay with us once a month for most of her life.”

On Saturday, Rory Feek responded to these claims with an emotional blog post titled “love, dad,” where he expressed his pain over the situation. Rory wrote:
“I love my daughters, Heidi and Hopie, with all my heart. I do not want to hurt them, even though their desire seems to hurt me deeply. It mostly makes me want to love them more.”
Rory and his late wife Joey Feek, who passed away from cancer in 2016, welcomed Indiana in 2014. Since Joey’s death, Heidi and Hopie formed a close maternal bond with Indiana, who has special needs.
In 2018, Indiana even served as the flower girl at Heidi’s wedding. However, Heidi explained that things started to change a few years ago. Rory allegedly began limiting communication, first banning FaceTime calls, then text messages. Visits to Heidi’s home in Alabama were also canceled without rescheduling.

Heidi shared:
“We supported his decision because we could still talk to her on the phone, and she continued to visit us in Alabama. But things became concerning when he started canceling visits altogether and stopped allowing overnight stays.”
Rory addressed these changes in his blog, stating Indiana is allowed to talk to her sisters but confirmed he had stopped the overnight visits. He explained that he has “different worldviews” from Heidi and Hopie and doesn’t want to expose Indiana to certain things.
“Indiana is my daughter, and I know what Joey would want. I am standing firmly on the values and principles that are important to me,” Rory said.
After Rory’s blog post, Heidi took to Instagram to share her own message, concluding with, “We love our little sister Indiana more than anything in the world, so we are taking action. Love, your daughters.”

Heidi also revealed in her People interview that she recently reconnected with her birth mother after learning that Rory had allegedly kept her and Hopie from their mom. Heidi said:
“When we started getting cut off from Indy, I couldn’t shake the feeling this had happened before. She then discovered that her mother had always wanted to be part of their lives.
Rory denied this claim, stating in his blog that he raised his daughters on his own and hopes one day to share his side of the story. “Though they’ve reconnected with their birth mother, it sounds like she has a whole other side of the story. I hope someday they give me the opportunity to share my side.”
As the family’s rift continues to unfold, both Heidi and Rory are standing by their sides of the story, hoping for resolution in their own ways.
