Lala Kent, known for her role on Vanderpump Rules, has shared the name of her second child. In a sweet Instagram post featuring her newborn’s tiny feet, she captioned it simply, “Sosa Kent.”
Baby Sosa joins her older sister, Ocean, who’s 2 years old. The name “Sosa” caught attention, with some fans loving the ocean-themed connection.
According to BabyNames.com, Sosa means “salt water” in Portuguese, making it a perfect match with her sister’s name, Ocean.
Fans React to the Name Sosa!
While many fans loved the name, it did spark some mixed reactions. Some pointed out that “Sosa” is also a slang term for cocaine, and others referenced the character Alejandro Sosa, a drug lord in the movie Scarface.
One fan commented, “Oh Lala, please change the name. It sounds like the Mexican Cartel. It’s not too late. Skye would go great with Ocean.” Others had similar reactions:
- “Sosa? What kind of name is that? With so many other beautiful names…”
- “Sosa is the drug lord in Scarface!!!”
- “I like the name, I think it’s cute. Ignore the haters, Lala.”
Despite the comments, many fans loved the salt water connection, with one user saying, “Awe, Ocean and Sosa (salt water) LOOOVE THIS!!! Congratulations!!!”

Lala Kent’s Journey as a Single Mom!
Kent welcomed Sosa on Sept. 3, with the help of a sperm donor. She shares her first daughter, Ocean, with ex-partner Randall Emmett. In a past interview with TODAY.com, Kent expressed how important it was to her to give Ocean a sibling. She said:
“Having a sibling is so incredible. You can relate when your mom or dad is acting a fool, and you have someone to call and banter with. It’s a bond like nothing else. I would feel like I was doing her a disservice by not giving her a sibling.”

Kent has built a strong support system to help her navigate life as a mother of two. Her “village” includes a night nurse three days a week, along with her closest friends, her brother, and her mom.
