Controversial commentator Candace Owens has found herself in hot water with YouTube. The platform has suspended her for one week after she shared a 2022 interview with Kanye West.
During the interview, West made the claim that “Jewish people control the media,” which YouTube deemed a violation of their hate speech policies.
Owens Takes to X to Announce Suspension!
Owens, a far-right political figure, revealed the news of her suspension on X (formerly Twitter). She expressed her frustration, stating that her interview with Kanye West had been flagged for hate speech and removed after being mass-reported.
Owens claimed the reports were largely from what she referred to as “Zionists,” and criticized YouTube’s decision. “There will be no show today, or at all this week,” she wrote on X.
“YouTube has issued me a strike and a one-week suspension for my sit down with Kanye. They also removed the interview as ‘hate speech’, as it was mass reported by Zionists. Their tactics never change.”

YouTube Explains Their Decision!
In a notice to Owens, YouTube explained that her video violated their hate speech policies, specifically because it contained “conspiratorial claims that individuals or groups are evil, corrupt, or malicious based on their protected group status.” The platform specifically pointed out the video’s claim that Jewish people control the media.
Owens, who has nearly 2.4 million subscribers, defended the interview, arguing that Kanye, now known as Ye, was calm and “filled with love” during their conversation. She insisted that the aim of the discussion was to talk about “the world coming together to defeat evil.”

Rabbi Shmuley Responds to YouTube’s Suspension of Owens
Rabbi Shmuley, who had a heated debate with Owens on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored show last week, praised YouTube for taking action against her. He referred to her as “America’s antisemite” in a post on X and celebrated the suspension.
“#AmericasAntisemite Candace Owens @realcandaceo continues to blame me for her suspension on @YouTube,” he wrote. “Thank you so much, Candace. I wear it as a badge of honor.”
He added:
“I am so happy that, as promised, I demolished you in our @PiersMorgan debate, exposing all of your filthy lies about Jews, which must’ve forced @YouTube to finally confront the dangerous incitement to violence against Jews that is your goal.”

Kanye West’s Controversial History with Antisemitism
The suspension ties into a larger controversy surrounding Kanye West’s antisemitic comments in recent years. In 2022, West posted a tweet stating that he was going “death con 3 on Jewish people,” which led to his account being locked and the tweet being removed.
He later admitted that he was drinking when he made the post and apologized to the Jewish community. Despite the apology, West continues to face legal and reputational fallout from his comments, including lawsuits related to his antisemitic behavior.
