Jimmy Kimmel Jokes About Late-Night Future After Fallon’s Show!

Jimmy Kimmel has shared a light-hearted moment following NBC’s decision to cut an episode of Jimmy Fallon’s show.

NBC recently announced that The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will now air four nights a week instead of five, with reruns on Fridays. This move comes just months after NBC made budget cuts by eliminating the house band from Late Night with Seth Meyers.

He also joked about the future of late-night TV, saying, “There is no future for late-night,” reflecting on the shrinking viewership and budget cuts affecting the industry.

The shift in late-night TV comes as networks grapple with declining audiences and increased competition from streaming services. Seth Meyers’s associate musical director, Eli Janney, compared the situation to the impact of streaming on the music industry, where budgets have been slashed.

Despite the recent changes, Fallon’s show was renewed by NBC through 2028. Fallon, who took over The Tonight Show from Jay Leno in 2014, remains a key player in late-night television.
