A TikTok mom recently shared her disappointment with Cicis Pizza, claiming it’s not a “real” buffet after multiple visits left her frustrated.
Posting under the username @theamwsfamily, the woman documented her family’s recent trip to the restaurant, expressing confusion and dissatisfaction over the experience.
The Frustration Begins!
“They say third time’s the charm, but I don’t believe that,” she starts off in her video. Despite her doubts, her kids wanted to go back to Cicis, so she gave it another shot.
As the camera pans across the restaurant, she points out the pizza stations, which appear nearly empty. Other customers are shown picking from the remaining slices with flat-steel serving utensils, but there’s not much variety.
While her children seem to be enjoying the outing, the TikToker shares her frustrations. Her main complaint? Constantly having to request specific pizzas.

“Is It Really a Buffet?”
“I understand you can request pizza. We’ve heard that before,” she explains. “But at a buffet, why do you have to keep asking for pizza? Shouldn’t it just be there?”
To make matters worse, there were no bowls available for the soup, forcing her to repeatedly ask staff for them. “We get that it gets busy,” she says, “but this is supposed to be a buffet.”
At one point, she points out to her kids that there are only five breadsticks left, telling them to be considerate of others—although one breadstick gets stuck in the serving tray. The mom continues:
“You have to request every pizza because there’s never any up there. Is that really a buffet?”

Despite her complaints, the TikToker did highlight some positives. She shows her family enjoying their meal together and even gives a shoutout to a Cicis employee who she described as “nice.”
In the video’s caption, she repeats her main question: “If you have to keep going up to request pizza, is it really a buffet?”
Viewers Weigh In!
Her video quickly garnered over 52,000 views, with many viewers focusing on the $72 bill she paid for her family. “$72 is crazy tho,” one commenter wrote.
Others reflected on how Cicis Pizza has changed. “Cici’s used to be popping and stacked with pizza options!” one user exclaimed. Another added:
“This isn’t the Cicis I grew up with. I could eat a whole pizza when I was 12, sometimes two. They always had plenty of pizza back then.”
Some defended Cicis’ decision to limit pizza availability on the buffet, arguing that it helps control the food flow and reduce waste. “People will just say forget it and leave,” one viewer commented.

Is Cicis Pizza Really a Buffet?
Technically, yes. Cicis Pizza does brand itself as an all-you-can-eat buffet. However, according to guidelines from sites like Chowbus, a true buffet requires continuous monitoring and refilling of dishes to ensure freshness and availability.
While Cicis offers a fixed price for unlimited pizza, the lack of consistent refills has left some customers, like @theamwsfamily, questioning whether it’s truly a “real” buffet.
