Games and Sports
In spite of the limitation of College ground which is a prevailing problem for most of the hill colleges of North Bengal, the College encourages students’ to participate in all kinds of games and sports (both outdoor and indoor) in every possible way. The College holds excellent record in the field of games and sports and the students of this College have performed and attained outstanding feats at state, national and International level as well. Every year the College sends Football team, Volleyball team and athletics players to participate in the inter-college tournaments held by the University of North Bengal and the College holds a very good record as well. Besides these sports, the College selects players from the College after selection trial and sends them to University level participation in the field of Badminton, Table-Tennis etc. Apart from these, different types of sports events including Carrom and Chess are held throughout the year both inside and outside the College for both the staffs as well as the students. It aids in the much needed relaxation from the hectic monotonous daily routine. To motivate them prizes are also given. The College gives funding to students participating in any other games which are outside the purview of University games like boxing etc. In a nutshell, the College promotes and extends help in all kinds of sports related events.
Sports Report of Kalimpong College for the year 2021-22

Boxing:-
Awadesh Prasad of 3 rd Sem Arts General participated and won the silver medal in the 3 rd North Bengal Boxing Championship organized by Kalimpong District Boxing Association held on 29 th and 30 th July, 2022.
Badminton:-
Subham Ranaphali participated in the badminton championship held at University of North Bengal and got selected to represent East Zone Inter Badminton Tournament held from 27 th till 31 st December, 2021 at the Assam Royal Global University Campus, Guwahati.
In the tournament held at University of North Bengal on 19 th to 21 st October, 2022 Kalimpong College lost in the semi-finals in the team event as well as individual event but once again Subham Ranaphali got selected to represent East Zone Inter Badminton Tournament to be held soon.
Football:-
After the selection trial, 22 players were selected for the year 2022 to represent the college team. The college football team participated in the Rabi Lal Lama Memorial League Cum knock Out Football Tournament held at Mela Ground, Kalimpong from 20 th April, 2022 and won just two out of five matches played and couldn’t qualify for the next round.
Staff-Sports:-
Staff-Sport was oraganized at Kalimong College on 20 th to 21 st June, 2022. Almost 95% of the entire staff strength participated in Carrom and Table Tennis Championship and the following table shows the winner’s list.

Intra College Sports:-
An Intra College level competition in Table Tennis (Singles only), Carrom and Chess for both Men’s and Women’s Category separately was held at our College from 23/09/2022 (Friday) till 27/09/2022 (Tuesday) to mark the occasion of diamond jubilee of our College. A total of 671 students participated in different events. The table below shows the list of winners.

Inter-District T.T. Tournament:-
Kalimpong College in collaboration with the Kalimpong District Table Tennis Association organized an Inter-District T.T. Tournament at Kalimpong College on 28/09/2022 for both students and staff to mark the occasion of diamond jubilee of our College. A total of eight(08) colleges participated namely 1.Kalimpong College (host instituition), 2. St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling, 3. Pedong Govt. Degree College, Kalimpong, 4. Salesian College, Sonada, 5. Kuseong College, Kurseong 6. Sonada Degree College, Sonada 7. Southfield College, Darjeeling and 8. Gorubathan Govt. Degree College, Gorubathan.
The event started with a welcome address by our respected Vice-Principal Ma’am Mrs. Devi Chettri followed by a brief note by Dr. Amit Rauth on the importance of games and sports in our day to day life and addressed the players to play with sportsman spirit. The match referee started both the students and staff category matches immediately after the lottery. Refreshments and lunch was provided to all the participants and match officials. The event finally ended on a note of gratitude by our respected Vice-Principal Ma’am Mrs. Devi Chettri.
