Sydney Sweeney is “very excited” to dive back into the world of Euphoria. The actress, who has become a fan favorite for her role as Cassie, shared her enthusiasm this week.
“I’m really looking forward to jumping back into Cassie,” Sweeney told People. “She’s one of the most special characters to me, and I love my Euphoria family. I can’t wait to be back with them.”
Although Sweeney is eager to return, she admits she doesn’t know much about what’s in store for the much-anticipated third season of HBO’s hit series. “Honestly, I don’t know anything about it,” she said, but added that she always enjoys exploring Cassie’s darker, more chaotic side. “I love crazy Cassie, so the crazier, the better for me.”

Sweeney previously opened up about preparing to return to the show, especially after the long break since season two wrapped up three years ago. “We had a long gap between season one and season two, but with the time jump now, it’s a new process for me,” she explained.
“I’m learning as I go and staying open to whatever comes next. But I’m really excited. Cassie is always such a thrilling character to play, so I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in her life.”

One thing Sweeney is particularly excited about is reuniting with her co-stars Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and others. “They were the crew and cast that were there at the start of my career,” she shared.
“We all came together from different places and were navigating so much at the same time. It’s really nice to have that core group. They’re going through similar experiences, so it’s great to have that community.”
Sweeney and the rest of the cast have kept details about Euphoria season three under wraps, with the actress even comparing talking about the show to discussing Marvel—both equally nerve-wracking.
Earlier this year, HBO announced that filming for the third season had been delayed indefinitely, giving the cast the freedom to explore other opportunities. However, in July, the network confirmed that production is set to begin early next year.
Fans of Euphoria can rest assured that Sweeney is just as eager as they are to see what’s next for Cassie and the rest of the characters.
