Brittany Cartwright’s Shocking Divorce Filing—What She’s Asking For? After seven months of separation, Brittany Cartwright has officially decided to end her five-year marriage with Jax Taylor, her co-star from "Vanderpump Rules" and "The Valley." According to USA Today, the court documents stated Brittany, 35, filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday to dissolve her marriage with Jax, whose real name is Jason Michael Cauchi. Jax is 45 years old. The couple's representative has declined to comment on the situation. Custody and Property Requests! The couple shares a 3-year-old son, Cruz. In her filing, Brittany is seeking legal and physical custody of Cruz and has requested that Jax be granted visitation rights. She cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce and asked the court not to award spousal support to either party. Additionally, Brittany requested that the court determine that any property and assets acquired "by gift or inheritance" or "before marriage or after the date of separation" should be hers. Brittany first announced their separation on their podcast, "When Reality Hits," in February, a month after the separation date stated in her filing, which was January 24th. "Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health. Yes, marriages are hard in general, and I've had a particularly rough year." Brittany shared in the episode. Though still difficult to discuss, Brittany said she’s focusing on taking things "one day at a time." "I don't know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz," she added. TV Venture and Moving Forward The news of their separation came just a month before their latest TV venture, "The Valley," a spin-off of "Vanderpump Rules," made its debut. The show features a cast that includes Kristen Doute, Luke Broderick, Danny and Nia Booko, Janet and Jason Caperna, and Jesse and Michelle Lally. As Brittany moves forward with her life, she's focusing on what matters most: her son and her well-being.
