A Best Buy customer is sharing a simple hack for getting new Apple products at a discounted rate by trading in old ones.
In a TikTok video with over 52k+ likes, content creator Colman Feighan (@coleman.feighan) explains how he turned his old AirPods into a brand-new pair of headphones at a reduced price.
How It Works
“You know you can trade in your old AirPods and get brand new ones? I didn’t until yesterday,” Feighan starts off, explaining how the process works.
Feighan reveals that he had three pairs of AirPods from years of buying new ones after losing old pairs, only to find the lost ones later.
While his older AirPods fit perfectly, their battery life had diminished. The newer model didn’t fit as well and kept falling out of his ears.
After visiting the Apple Store for help, Feighan was disappointed to find out that all they could do was clean his AirPods. However, an Apple employee tipped him off to a better option: head over to Best Buy.
The Best Buy Deal!
“If you go to Best Buy, Best Buy will buy your AirPods from you,” Feighan explains. He traded in two of his three pairs and received a Best Buy gift card in return.
With the money, he bought a new pair of Shokz headphones, opting for a different brand after finding out he couldn’t try on AirPods in-store before purchasing.

Feighan shared in the comments that Best Buy gave him $80 for his two pairs of AirPods. While it wasn’t the full value, he was happy with the deal, especially since one pair no longer worked properly. “I’ll consider it a win,” he said.
His final piece of advice? “Go to Best Buy, not Apple.”
