Armie Hammer Can’t Afford the Gas Anymore, So He’s Letting Go of His Favorite Truck!

“I have loved this truck intensely,” the actor shared.

Armie Hammer is making some big changes in his life, starting with downsizing his vehicle. In a candid video shared on his Instagram on Tuesday, Aug. 27, the 37-year-old actor announced that he’s selling his cherished truck for something more economical.

“So, I’ve been back in L.A. for a couple of weeks now, and this is my truck,” he began in the selfie clip, referring to his 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Pickup.

“I bought this for myself in 2017 as a Christmas gift. I have loved this truck intensely, taken it camping, driven it across the country multiple times, and gone on long road trips. I even took it for one last road trip to CarMax.”

Hammer was quick to clarify that his video wasn’t an ad for CarMax, despite showing the company’s sign as he prepared to say goodbye to his beloved truck.

Saying Goodbye to a Beloved Truck!

“This is because I’m selling my truck. Since being back in L.A., I’ve spent about 4 or 500 dollars on gas, and I just can’t afford it anymore,” Hammer admitted.

The Death on the Nile star reminisced about the memories he made with the truck, like bringing his kids home from the hospital and enjoying countless road trips.

Hammer shares daughter Harper, 9, and son Ford, 7, with his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers.

Embracing New Beginnings

“But you know what? That’s okay. I got a new car. It’s tiny. It’s a hybrid. I’m probably going to spend about 10 bucks on gas a month, and this is it,” he said with a sense of optimism. “Here’s to new beginnings. It’s my birthday tomorrow.”

Hammer revealed that on August 28, he’ll be celebrating his birthday in a new car, a new apartment, and a new chapter of his life in Los Angeles.

Before wrapping up, he took a moment to thank his truck for all the journeys they shared. “I appreciate it all. I hope you take as good care of the next person.”

Moving Forward After a Tumultuous Past!

This comes after a turbulent period for the actor. In July, Hammer appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored to address past allegations, including accusations of sexual and physical abuse and even cannibalism.

During the interview, Hammer firmly denied ever “eating any human flesh” but acknowledged that a “very intense affair” led to his 2023 divorce from Chambers.

He also opened up about how the intense media scrutiny made him contemplate suicide, a decision he reconsidered for the sake of his children. Hammer is currently working to rebuild his life and reputation.

“He wants to prove himself and regain credibility by clawing his way back into Hollywood,” an insider told People in June. “He doesn’t want to be seen as taking favors.”

Another source added, “He hasn’t been leaning on family money or what people might assume because of his name. It seems like he’s really put in the work with treatment.”
