Simon Cowell is embracing his role as a proud family man. The 64-year-old America’s Got Talent judge recently stepped out with his fiancée, Lauren Silverman, and their 10-year-old son, Eric, ahead of the AGT quarterfinals on Tuesday. The family of three looked happy as they posed for photos, sharing a rare moment in the public eye.
This appearance comes months after Cowell opened up about how his son, Eric, helped him find happiness again. During an interview on The Diary Of A CEO podcast in June, Cowell reflected on a difficult time in his life after losing both his parents—his father, Eric, in 1999, and his mother, Julie, in 2015.
“I think particularly when I lost my mom, I was on a downward spiral. I had lost everyone. I’ve lost my parents, and suddenly everything I had, the material things, didn’t mean anything anymore.”
Cowell shared.

Cowell and Silverman welcomed their son, Eric, on February 14, 2014. Silverman also has an 18-year-old son, Adam, from a previous relationship. Cowell recalled the life-changing moment when Lauren first told him she was pregnant:
“When I got the call from Lauren, it started with, ‘Are you sitting down?’ And I knew what was coming. It changed everything in my life. It made me happy again.”
When asked if his son “saved him,” Cowell didn’t hesitate. “Without question. I really, really had reached the point where nothing mattered,” he said. “Even to the point where I almost can’t remember everything from that period.”
In a separate interview with Hello! magazine in June, Cowell spoke further about how fatherhood completely shifted his perspective. “Twenty years ago, I didn’t think I was going to have kids because I thought I was too old,” he admitted.
“So when I found out I was going to be a dad—and the first time I saw his scan—I was literally obsessed. Something changed, and now every decision I make, I’m thinking about Eric. Is it the right decision for him?”
he continued.
