Leah Remini, best known for her role on The King of Queens, and her husband Angelo Pagán have announced their decision to end their marriage after 21 years. The couple shared the news through a heartfelt joint post on Instagram on Thursday, August 29.
In their announcement, Remini and Pagán explained that this decision was made after careful consideration. “After 28 years together and 21 years of marriage, we have decided to file for divorce,” the post began. “This decision came after a lot of thought and care, and as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it’s what’s best for us.”
Despite the divorce, the couple emphasized that they remain proud of how they’ve handled this situation together. They also shared that they will continue to celebrate holidays, watch their favorite TV shows, and gather as a family while adjusting to their “new normal.”

The couple addressed the reason behind their separation, saying, “So, the big question—why? To put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn’t fit us anymore.” They expressed that after much effort and consideration, they decided to take this step to reflect who they are today.
Even though their marriage is ending, they highlighted that their bond is still strong, just in a different way. They see their marriage as a success that created many beautiful memories, especially raising their daughter, Sofia Bella. The couple looks forward to creating more cherished moments, even if it will be in a different way.
Leah Remini and Angelo Pagán have always been open about their relationship, sharing it publicly over the years. They wanted to be transparent with their followers about this new chapter of their lives. “We are sharing this unknown territory with you all as we take our first steps into this next stage of our lives publicly,” they said.
